Simba SC continued their impressive run in the NBC Premier League after securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Pamba Jiji FC at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Sunday.

The Msimbazi giants made a bright start to the encounter and took the lead as early as the 8th minute through Elie Mpanzu Kibisawala, who found the back of the net to give Simba a dream start in front of their home supporters.

However, Pamba Jiji responded positively and managed to level the score in the 19th minute, silencing the home crowd and ensuring the two sides went into a closely contested battle. The first half eventually ended 1-1 despite Simba enjoying the majority of possession.

After the break, Simba increased the tempo and created several opportunities in search of a winning goal. Their persistence paid off in the 65th minute when striker Lamine GuĆØye found the net to restore Simba’s lead and put the hosts back in control of the match.

Pamba Jiji attempted to fight back during the final stages of the game, but Simba’s defense remained organized and disciplined, denying the visitors any clear opportunities to equalize.

The victory strengthens Simba’s position in the league standings as they continue their pursuit of the championship title. Meanwhile, Pamba Jiji will look to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures as they aim to finish the season strongly.
