Brazil Held to 1-1 Draw by Morocco in FIFA World Cup 2026 Opener

Brazil began their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign with a disappointing 1-1 draw against Morocco in a highly entertaining Group C clash played on June 13, 2026.

The match attracted global attention as five-time world champions Brazil faced a Morocco side that has continued to establish itself as one of the strongest teams in international football. Fans were treated to an exciting encounter filled with quality attacking football and intense competition from both sides.

Morocco opened the scoring in the 21st minute through Ismael Saibari. The midfielder capitalized on a well-worked attacking move and calmly finished past the Brazilian goalkeeper to give the Atlas Lions a deserved lead.

Brazil responded positively and increased the pressure in search of an equalizer. Their efforts paid off in the 32nd minute when star winger Vinicius Junior produced a brilliant finish to level the score at 1-1. The Real Madrid forward showcased his pace and technical ability before finding the back of the net.

The second half saw both teams create several opportunities, but strong defensive performances and excellent goalkeeping prevented any further goals. Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou delivered another impressive display, making crucial saves to deny Brazil a winning goal.

Brazil enjoyed more possession throughout the match, but Morocco remained organized and dangerous on the counterattack. The North African side once again demonstrated why they are considered one of the most difficult teams to break down in world football.
